Big Talk Education

What we do

BigTalk Education is an organisation committed to keeping children and teenagers informed, safe, healthy and happy.

We work with Children and Young people directly plus, offer support and Training to Parents, Carers and Professionals.

In 2012 we delivered our Education for Relationships and Sex Programme to 4,000 young people across 10 Schools, this covered 4 Lessons in Yr9 and then 6monthly Roadshows to Yrs !0 & 11.

Increasingly our ERS Workshops are in demand, which Schools include as part of their Enhancement Days, these include a wide range of contemporary topics such as "The Great Sex Test"~ checking out essential information for all Teenagers. "Pornography versus Reality"~ exploding the myths, keeping boys knowledgable and safe."Unexpecting" ~ terminations explained. "Mates, Dates, Loves, Hates??" ~ Positive & Abusive Teenage Relationships

Our work with Children and Young People also includes 1:1 sessions which can be commissioned by anyone:  Parents, Schools and Children's Services being the main clients.

New for 2013 is our Training "Parents & Teachers Together" to help everyone realise the importance of working together to keep children safe from unwanted touches, abuse etc. Whilst helping them make sense of the plethora of sexualised messages they hear every day.

Increasingly we are providing more training for Parents and Professionals especially our new course "Protecting Children fron Early Sexualisation" which raises awareness of how society is becoming increasingly commercialised and sexualised and the effect this is having on our children. We link this closely to our work in Schools where the effects are apparent. There is an emphasis on PRACTICAL things which Parents can do to protect and help their child to cope.

For us quality Relationship and Sex Education is vital and it's not about taking away innocence but ensuring that every child we work with knows how to stay safe from inappropriate touches and pressures at whatever age. They should all have the confidence, vocabulary and knowledge to seek help and support should they need it, everything we do is age and need appropriate.

An informed child is a safer child
