Lynnette has a background in Youth & Community Work; she is also a qualified Teacher, Trainer and Specialist Relationship & Sex Education Trainer having worked in the field of ERS* (Education for Relationships and Sex) since the early '90s. She has worked for several Authorities in the Yorkshire and Humber Region before setting up her own business BigTalk Education in 2005.
BigTalk provides multi agency ERS Training for Professionals and holds Workshops for Parents. BigTalk delivers to approximately 4,000 young people each year through 1;1's, Lessons, Workshops and Roadshows in Schools, Academies, PRU's, Colleges and a wide variety of other settings,
Other specialist areas of work include; single gender, multi-faith, Young Offenders, ERS Peer Education training for teenagers including GLBT, Young Gipsy Travellers and the establishing of an ERS Peer Education project in Romania with Care Leavers.
Whilst contracted to North Lincolnshire Partnership to oversee the implementation of their Teenage Pregnancy Strategy all Year 9 & 10 Students were included in an Authority wide Sex Education Database to ensure full inclusion, the teenage pregnancy rate was reduced by 20%
She is also involved with the Fatherhood Project at Leeds University, she has also lecturered part time with Hull and Lincoln Universities. She regularly is invited to speak on BBC Sheffield, Humberside & Lincoln Radio. Lynnette has two daughters
The BigTalk Team
The Team has been in operation since 1996 and now consists of 10 fully trained Staff who deliver ERS Classes & Workshops an arm of the Team now specialoise in Drug & Alcohol Education
All our Staff have CRB clearance, are covered by full insurance and have received all appropriate Health and Safety training.
Big Talk Education is CHAS registered, we are affiliated to the NCB (National Children's Bureau) and the Sex Education Forum. It is now a supporter of BEEP (Business, Education and Enterprise Partnership) and believe that aspiration for the future is a vital element of Quality ERS
